GAUTAM GAMBHIR
A prolific run-scorer at the domestic level, Gautam Gambhir soon made an impact in 2002 by smashing successive double tons in first-class matches. He was soon a contender for the opening slot in the Indian side. His solid footwork, high bat-speed and a boldly young approach perplexed bowlers more than once as vigilant defence was substituted by the aerial route over point. With his slight build and shy attitude, Gambhir represents a fearless and aggressive style of cricket. His success with the Indian side has not been consistent and he has had a stop-start career. Hence he has still not cemented his place in the team. At the World Twenty20, he was India’s top scorer with 227 runs. This Delhi opener will look to make most of any opportunities that come his way.
So, let’s set ourselves this challenge – start exercising a little more, play sport, eat better, cut down on the junk food. We can all do something, so kids, get mum and dad involved and go for a walk or bowl a few overs in the backyard. And parents, set the example for your children. It starts at home.
Jonty Rhodes
Swooping onto a ball from his position at backward point, Rhodes raced ul-Haq, who had ventured down the pitch, to the crease, beating him, with his right arm holding the ball and extended like Superman, with a dive that knocked all three stumps out of the ground. The pictures were shown around the world and a legend was born.

Salman Butt
Indian Cricket League
In 2007, Inzamam joined the unsanctioned Indian Cricket League. In the inaugural competition, Inzamam captained the Hyderabad Heroes and scored 141 runs in 5 matches. In the 2008 competition in March, Inzamam captained the Lahore Badshahs, composed entirely of Pakistani cricketers.
The move to the ICL has proved to be a controversial one for Inzamam. The PCB's stance on players joining unsanctioned leagues has meant that he has been banned from playing in any domestic competitions in Pakistan or any involvement with the international team.[8] However, given Inzamam's recent retirement, this is unlikely to affect him.
